The brief
To help modernise several landing pages ready for a new product launch, within Wattbike’s existing Shopify custom theme
In preparation for the new Wattbike Proton and Wattbike Air, Wattbike came to us with a vision to refresh a selection of different landing pages. They wanted to use modern features without sacrificing site speed, in order to represent their products and create a user-friendly front end to showcase their products.
Imaginaire developed a selection of new sections for the homepage, hub and individual ecommerce product pages. We also created a comparison page, so that potential customers could see which of the three exercise bikes would be best for their needs.
- Develop dynamic content blocks to showcase product features and differentiators
- Adjust individual product pages to make their value proposition clearer
- Create new workout carousels to show off workouts from their hub
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure brand guidelines were adhered to
- Work with an existing codecase to integrate new functionality within a tight timeframe
Working with marketers and designers
Supporting a new product launch
Wattbike were launching a new product to help them engage with a different market to the one they typically deal with. This was a much more direct to consumer focused offering and required us to tidy up their product templates to resonate with this market.
One of the main criticisms they had of their existing pages was that the information wasn’t laid out in a very concise or logical manner. They wanted to get the key benefits of their various products across in a more punchy way, whilst still giving their research heavy customer persona the chance to dig into the detail of their products.
We did this by developing a short description area outlining the key benefits, price and giving customers the ability to add the product to the cart — this was all contained above the fold.
We then utilised tabbed navigation below the fold to house a lot of technical information in a clean, minimalist format.
With their classic branding already present across the site, we developed a selection of modern, functional features to accurately showcase their products and provide accessibility to their customers with the support of their in-house design team.
Features we added
- A new comparison block added to the home page
- A ‘Netflix style’ swiper to show workouts from their workout hub
- Set up section where customers can add products to their baskets directly from the home page
- Developed a new slider for the Hub page to showcase Wattbike’s app
- A style refresh for product pages with easy to read features, full specification connectivity and accessible product details
- A full featured comparison page to compare the different models
- General tidy up of codebase to improve performance
The result
Some great looking new features to help with their product launch. Delivered on time and on budget and the start of a great new partnership between Wattbike and Imaginaire.
